No Need For Handel?

PeaPod and his band  No Need For Idols have taken a step in a new direction musically.  One of his friends' parents have approached them and booked them for their daughter's wedding reception in a few months' time.

Apparently the wedding is consisting of classical music during the ceremony, NNFI, for the earlier evening slot, where the guys will be playing mainly covers requested by the bride and groom, and at night a good old get-up-and-dance-with-the-uncle-you-hate disco.

The boys have been asked something rather unusual but nonetheless touching. To write a song dedicated to the pair of idiots  couple for their first dance. Somewhat unique. They'll be given background on the intended and some guidance and approval from the money-drained, 'happy' parents and see what inspires from there. There will also be a professional recording of the song as a keepsake, too!

Now, I don't know if this sort of thing has been done before. Personally - I'd have far more fun with my quivers and clefts and all things, composing songs for the newly divorced. Get me my guitar and get me down to that patent office NOW!

Vulgar Saucy Cannon & Co

I just want to give Mrs. Kezley (me)'s  boys a huge GOOD LUCK wish for their upcoming single due to be released  into the Scottish charts in a few weeks.  The record company (titled) have chosen  Now You Feel  - the song that the Daily Record viewed as a potential hit single - for recording after hearing it live at King Tuts.

Today, Ross, Ross and Scott arrived at the studio for the first stage of recording before Paul and the final Ross join the tedious temperaments of the next stages later on this week.

The guys have made a brilliant job of sweeping across the central belt but it's in Edinburgh, however, where they've played fewer gigs, that the main promotion of the single will start.  Bus stops, halls, business premises etc, will be hosting posters as internet and radio do their funky stuff !  It'll appear in the old sidebar and blog one day. It's only fair that someday you should feel it too!

♫ Loo-st In Music ♫

How to humiliate yourself in under 20 mins!  During a quick journey into town, I nipped into the ladies loo ( they always seem to smell 'purplish' with  lavendar, violet, lilacs and the likes, don't they? ) in the shopping centre, leaving a carrier bag with a huge block of sliced Lorne, square sausage I purchased from the butcher, behind.  Having no hook on the back of the cubicle door, I rested the long slab by the side of the bowl as I piddled (this image is best not focused on for too long).  Anyhoo, I clicked on almost right away, returned to the loo and yes, the cubicle was occupied.  I gave a little cough and before I finished my "excuse me, but is there a....." enquiry, my sausage block come sliding out from under the door to greet me!  Had this been a shot in curling she'd have scored a mighty rock for deliverance!  Needless to say, I passed on that roll on sausage when I got home.

Next, I felt a right divvy at the bus stop 5 minutes later.  Listening to my iPod at mugging level, I was that deep into a song, I couldn't resist joining in with it's powerful middle eight element and  because I was abusing my eardrums somewhat mightily, I misjudged exactly just how loud I was warbling as three others in the shelter all turned to face me in unison. I slunk to the very back of the bus when it arrived - something that I hadn't voluntarily done in years!

So, that was a mere snippet of how my Friday morning started. Anyone need any shopping done...?

Sotto Voce

Four square sides help cubing her in,
pastel walls peelings their delicate skin
A journey to take her for all that's she's worth -
needle on plastic  - a quickening birth

Nothing to hurt her, to mock or appraise,
lest the red star collides with all that she says
Melancholia outed, a slow steady rate,
left the vinyl and cardboard to delineate

Enclosed in a side room, no nurses to gape,
where the voice and the vibe have no chance of escape
A soar through the heartstrings, a tour through the veins
as she reaches that faux exaltation again

Just a passion to keep her from harming herself
with her universe stacked on that pitiful shelf
Come hither and cover her, notes to advance
for an hour a day only in sweet severance

The Booby Trap and Other Crap

I've been a bit down since the phone call from the hospital saying that there is a suspicious area that the sonographer and consultant both wondered about at my last visit but didn't want to worry me with it at the time until they had consulted each other again. Ironically, the needle biopsy came back clear, all safe and well and the little lump is just a passing visitor. He should be gone completely in a few weeks. Now the radiographer wants a needle-core biopsy to remove cells from a lumpy area that I never even knew I had. It's concerning lymph nodes or the likes by my right breast armpit.  What a buggering pest.......!  Most of the time they are benign but just in case.  I thought I'd said tatty-bye-bye to all the poking and prodding, too. Hey-hoe...! It has, however, made me more determined to keep abreast of the charity night's developments  Yes, that cringe-worthy pun WAS on purpose.

Having no internet connection has been a pain as well.  My suppliers - Virgin - had an area fault around ten days ago. The whole of the neighbourhood's internet  was down  for 24hrs and guess whose connection was the only one not to be accepted again by their modem....?  I have to receive a refund but if there is no huge bunch of flowers or money-off tokens from my next balloon trip, I'll be furious!!!

The one and only thing that has lured me out into the social world this past fortnight has been my youngest son's debut band appearance at Scotland's most sought after venue Not every act gets to grace that stage - you must prove your worth first.  I don't know what it is about King Tuts in Glasgow, but it really does bring the best out in performers and the fans.  I loved the rapport between both. What makes it even more special is finding reviews and video's from some-one you don't know bigging them up on Blogger.  Thank you, Caitlin for this:

The Fest

Photobucket

If ever one was happy to see to colours floating by
Where rainbows lash across the ground instead of in the sky
Youths and wrinklies culminate, an ageless blend of life
A festival's the very place (why won't you take the wife?)

The music's mad and manic, you like bands you really hate
Time passes much too slowly, you've no patience- just can't wait
Raise your hands up high, girls - let's see your underwear!
Money jiggles out your pockets but you really just don't care....

You love this given energy, and think it's quite alright
To pay £5 for a glass of beer - buying 14 in one night
You've trodden on all sorts of things, wet the whole time through
It's amazing all the places that can double as a loo

Surrounding music follows you, it's hard to disconnect
When the pill you popped an hour ago kicks in with full effect
Colours jump from everywhere, from each and every tent
Won't be long until this happy trip goes on it's big descent

And at three in the morning, lost your mates, you're all alone
Can't remember why you've ended up outside a neon phone
You lift the dial and frown and sway, and give a little sigh
And ask the magic troll you're with 'Eh? who the hell am I?'

Only sleep will be your saviour, he's a long long way away
Just pick a tent at random, till you see the light of day
Then asking if it's worth it, paranoia, pain and fear?
Of course it is, this ageing hippy does it every year!
