Light Station Lure

As open and as unscathed,
the mistress that's the sea
Singling out trespassers
as they sing a sorry plea

Not a rock she hasn't shifted,
not a shoal she hasn't filled
Obstinate, hard hearted,
suffocating those weak-willed

Calling to the star light,
highlights waving from the moon
Blind obliteration
lest the both of them attune

Part of her very innards,
the only soul that she contains
Seeking out the wayward vessels
a step too close, she preordains

Never scared and never lonely,
trusting in her red and white
A keen eye yet in misty-lens
foghorn hollers overnight

Life upon a grassy edge,
in birds you must confide
With a heart only a Stevenson
could beat with lasting pride

The tune of the "Watch Light" guarding the traveler against sure demise. You have sung her song well. Nicely penned!

I agree with Tess. There is a spirituality in your phrases that carries on through your poem. Beautifully rendered, Lena. Thank you for sharing this.

Lena,
If we don't respect her, the sea will punish us accrdingly without guilt!
Well put.

I like the addition of the sack plus its bow, and the keys on the hook - but what is that black squiggly thing in the top right hand section?

Obstinate, hard hearted,
suffocating those weak-willed

That's the sea at its worst...

Ginny - thank you. I painted a lighthouse themed mural on my younger son's walls when he was into seas, sand and gulls and stuff. I loved this pic as it was like inside looking out this time!

Tess - thank you - I really enjoyed working with this week's prompt!

Linda - you're very welcome, Linda!

Sue - great minds..!☻

Optimistic - thanks...and for stopping by - I'll be sure to return the visit!

Rel - well, she has been around a heck of a loooong, time!

Magaret - I do like a little bit of a tinker......!

Jinksy - ah, the place looked so open, and I feel better with clutter!

Oh, and the squiggly thing is actually a Magpie. I add a magpie to most of my prompt pictures. My little mark of respect!
