Versus You

The city sighs and cars collide and
I take it in all in manic stride.
Pent up hating, gross debating
run or spend a minute waiting.

Traffic lures me, lights assure me,
time for madness   to endure me
  Gridlock, trying, by and bying
someone's crying loud but surely

Put the foot down, sidles around,
can't the motion hurry on town
I'll twist the tries, nurse my black eyes
green says go but red defies......

Oh, I loved this! Your rhyme scheme and rhythm are just perfect, uncontrived, natural.

Ruby - just so!

Thanks JJ - I'll pop to yours soon!

Jinksy - awe, thank you. I know it's not too bad a write when you like the opener line!

Shers - lol....ear plug jam session!

Berowne - thank you kind Sir!

Brian - I appreciate the depth used in our poems when you visit us! How you fit it all in I've no idea - but it's well appreciated!

Isabel - congestion indeed - thick stuff, too!

Jo - thenk you me dear!

Thingy - The street labelled is the biggest one in Glasgow and choc a bloc full, road and pavements. Crossing the road is a challenge in itself. It really is a bastard!

Morning - Blessings!

Living in a city taking things in one's 'manic stride' is the norm. Great write!
